Huddle Pick’em

Cookie and Storage Notice

Last updated September 6, 2026 · Version 2026-09-06

This notice describes the browser storage currently used by Huddle Pick’em, operated by Redcrows Solutions. Read it with the Privacy Policy.

1. Sign-in cookie

The first-party session cookie is named pickem_session by default; an operator can configure a different name. It contains a random authentication token, not your readable password or picks. The database stores a hash used to recognize a valid session. The cookie is HTTP-only, uses SameSite=Strict, and is marked Secure in production. These settings reduce exposure but do not replace careful account security.

The default session lifetime is 30 days and may be configured by the operator. Logging out removes the current session; a successful password reset invalidates existing sessions. Cookie expiry limits use, but expired server records are not necessarily immediately erased.

2. Selected-group preference

Local storage uses a key beginning pickem-group-, followed by your account ID, to remember the selected group ID on that browser. This preference remains until cleared or replaced. It does not authenticate you or grant group access, and signing out does not automatically erase it. Different browsers and devices can remember different groups.

3. Other browser behavior

Your browser can cache static app files and may save form input or passwords according to your browser settings. A password reset link briefly places a secret in the URL fragment so it is not part of the HTTP request path. Avoid sharing the full reset link. Those behaviors are distinct from optional advertising cookies.

4. Analytics and advertising

The current app includes no optional analytics or advertising tracker integration and does not provide a banner pretending to switch necessary authentication storage off. If optional tracking is introduced, this notice and any appropriate controls must be revisited before enabling it. Hosting and email infrastructure may maintain their own operational records as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Your controls

You can clear site cookies and local storage in your browser’s privacy/site-data settings. Clearing the session cookie signs you out on that browser; clearing local storage resets the remembered group. Blocking necessary cookies prevents normal signed-in use. Use Log out before leaving a shared device. Email preferences are separate and are available on the support page.
